2022.01.18 07:45 chandula666 Open Older projects in New Premiere?
Hey! I have been using Premiere 2018 for a lot of my projects and I was thinking about updating it to the latest version. Will I be able to open 2018 files on the 2020 version or 2021? or Is it possible to have both the 2018 version and the 2021 version installed?

2022.01.18 07:45 evoLverR Ethereum L1 wallet creation
Did ... I just spend 98 USD to activate this after I supplied 101 EUR to create L1?
This needs to be communicated clearer in the app!
Also, what's the deal with not being able to trade ETH to LRC in L2 wallet unless the transaction is over 0,034something ETH? Also what's the deal with not being able to ramp from fiat under 100 EUR?
All this is just weird, obfuscated and cryptic :(

2022.01.18 07:45 TsunamiJenn US Army SL-1 Nuclear Accident
| Events like Chernobyl are well known, and for good reason, but the US has also had their own nuclear accident, though on a much smaller scale, which did not cause nearly as much damage and loss of life in comparison.|
In 1949, Admiral Rickover had became the Director of the Nuclear Power Division, Bureau of Ships, and was appointed chief of the Naval Reactor Branch, Reactor Development Division, in the Atomic Energy Commission. Seeing the success the US Navy had with nuclear power, the US Army wanted to try their hands at a nuclear power plant as well.
On December 2, 1958, the Stationary Low-Power Reactor Number One, also known as SL-1 or the Argonne Low Power Reactor (ALPR), was officially dedicated west of Idaho Falls, Idaho.
On January 3, 1961, 3 operators were preparing SL-1 for restart after a shutdown of eleven days over the holidays. Maintenance procedures required that Rod 9 be manually withdrawn a few inches to reconnect it to its drive mechanism. At 9:01 pm, this rod was suddenly withdrawn too far, causing SL-1 to go prompt critical instantly. In four milliseconds, the heat generated by the resulting enormous power excursion caused fuel inside the core to melt and to explosively vaporize. The expanding fuel produced an extreme pressure wave that blasted water upward, striking the top of the reactor vessel with a peak pressure of 10,000 pounds per square inch (69,000 kPa). The slug of water was propelled at about 159 feet per second (48 m/s) with average pressure of around 500 pounds per square inch (3,400 kPa). This extreme form of water hammer propelled the entire reactor vessel upward at about 27 feet per second (8.2 m/s), while the shield plugs were ejected at about 85 feet per second (26 m/s). With six holes on the top of the reactor vessel, high pressure water and steam sprayed the entire room with radioactive debris from the damaged core. A later investigation concluded that the 26,000-pound (12,000 kg) (or thirteen short tons) vessel had jumped 9 feet 1 inch (2.77 m), parts of it striking the ceiling of the reactor building before settling back into its original location, and depositing insulation and gravel on the operating floor. If not for the vessel's #5 seal housing hitting the overhead crane, the pressure vessel had enough upward momentum to rise about 10 feet (3.0 m). The excursion, steam explosion, and vessel movement took two to four seconds.
One of the required maintenance procedures being done that day called for Rod 9 to be manually withdrawn approximately four inches (10 cm) in order to attach it to the automated control mechanism from which it had been disconnected. Post-accident calculations, as well as examination of scratches on Rod 9, estimate that it had actually been withdrawn approximately 20 inches (51 cm), causing the reactor to go prompt critical and triggering the steam explosion. No on knows for sure how or why this occurred, but the most common theories are:
(1) sabotage or suicide by one of the operators
(2) a murder-suicide involving an affair with the wife of one of the other operators
(3) inadvertent withdrawal of the main control rod due to the rod being stuck and the operator strongly pulling in at attempt to unstick the rod
(4) an intentional attempt to "exercise" the rod (to make it travel more smoothly within its sheath).
The maintenance logs do not address what the technicians were attempting to do, and thus the actual cause of the accident will never be known. Post-accident analysis estimated that this core heating and vaporization process happened in about 7.5 milliseconds, before enough steam had been formed to shut down the reaction, beating the steam shutdown by a few milliseconds. Therefore, the reactor designed for a 3 MW power output operated momentarily at a peak of about 20 GW, a power density over 6,000 times higher than its safe operating limit.
In the end, the spray of water and steam knocked two operators onto the floor, killing one and severely injuring another. The No. 7 shield plug from the top of the reactor vessel impaled the third man through his groin and exited his shoulder, pinning him to the ceiling. The victims were Army Specialists Richard Leroy McKinley (age 27) and John A. Byrnes (age 22), and Navy Seabee Construction Electrician First Class Richard C. Legg (age 26). It was later established that Byrnes (the reactor operator) had lifted the rod and caused the excursion; Legg (the shift supervisor) was standing on top of the reactor vessel and was impaled and pinned to the ceiling; and, McKinley (the trainee) stood nearby. Only McKinley was found alive, though unconscious and in deep shock, by rescuers. McKinley showed signs of diffuse bleeding within his scalp, and he survived approximately two hours before succumbing to his wounds. All three men succumbed to injuries from physical trauma.
After a pause for evaluation of procedures, the Army continued its use of reactors. However, while tests had shown that nuclear power was likely to have lower total costs, the financial pressures of the Vietnam War caused the Army to favor lower initial costs and it stopped the development of its reactor program in 1965, although the existing reactors continued operating until the last was shut down in 1977.

2022.01.18 07:45 aixelsyd- ARE SURGICAL SCRUBS PART OF YOUR PPE IN HIGH COVID RISK AREAS? HOSPITALS (PUBLIC AND PRIVATE)
Bit of a conundum here regarding appropriate uniform worn when working in high-risk areas with covid patients.
I would like to know what the rules are in your workplace regarding this matter please... I'm not asking about the PPE that you don on but your daily surgical scrubs...
Do you wear your normal scrubs to work and home, or do you wear surgical scrubs (theatre scrubs) provided by your facilities? Where are you from (state/country)? Is there evidence to say we shouldn't worry?
Are you being discouraged to wear theatre scrubs simply because of cost and "shortages," disregarding your tireless effort and now comfort/peace of mind 🤷🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️
Thank you in advance...

The website to sign up for appointments has a section for people who dont have a CIP to register for an appointment but it doesnt work. The walk in locations stopped doing walk in so currently there is no way for ex pats or foreign exchange students to get vaccinated without learning about signing up for the CIP which can take a month+ to receive after all you turn in all the paperwork.

2022.01.18 07:45 lafc88 You got GERD?
You are not alone. I am mod here in GERD. I see your stories from time to time. This post goes to all of you who feel hopeless or feel like there is no way out of this. There is hope but it takes a brave and understanding mentality to get GERD under control.
I began getting GERD in September of 2018. For the first few months I had panic attacks that I felt like they were heart attacks. I ended up in the ER 3 times. Doctor after doctor puzzled what I had. One thought it was due to high blood sugars. I was given medicine to control. I did and still did not stop the panic. Another one told me to stay away from caffeine. I did, nothing. I felt hopeless. The panic attacks took a heavy toll on my mental health. I would wake up in the middle of the night half asleep getting a panic attack and feeling suicidal thoughts. It was the hardest thing to deal with since I never in my 30 year life thought of doing that. My wife who was my girlfriend at the time was exhausted of helping me out. She was about to give up on our relationship. My work as a teacher was interrupted by it too. I would leave and take PTO anytime I felt an attack happen. I felt so hopeless.
After having a huge panic attack on a 5 hour flight, I decided to stop being defenseless and take action. I changed 5-6 doctors until I found one that would listen to me. I got a therapist that could provide me with ways to cope with my panic attacks.
My therapist suggested for me to pay attention to how my body reacted before, during and after a panic attack. She also recommended techniques to cope like drawing, using my senses to focus on something or talk with someone. Most importantly she found that I had an obsession with control in terms of being in charge of my life. She told me to let it go when I had a panic attack. To not fight it. It was hard but I indeed do that and it offered instant relief. I had one my first victory against GERD.
As for my doctor, she saw my symptoms as GERD and she was the first to diagnose and put the pieces together. She told me that my panic attack were most likely caused due to it not knowing how to handle something new like GERD. She prescribed me 20mg of Omeprazole and a small dose of lorezapam for the panic attacks. I was to take omeprazole for 2 weeks. It worked. It gave me hope and I was able to somewhat get my life back. However, the panic attacks and GERD were still there. It was a war. Many victories and losses. A year later after my first bouts of GERD, I still was battling it and trying to get normalcy back in my life. I decided to ask my doctor for a referral to a gastroenterologist. I got one and she did a upper endoscopy and it was fine in terms of my esophagus. She prescribed me 8 weeks of omeprazole. My regular doctor found that I was very deficient in vitamin D. She also prescribed 50k vitamin D for eight weeks. During those 8 weeks I stopped getting panic attacks. From there on I was able to get some normalcy in my life. It helped greatly since I now could look at my diet and deal with GERD.
So yes there is still hope for all of us. However, do know that GERD is permanent. There is no cure or a cure all. The best we can do is live with it but to a point where it becomes a minor inconvenience that we need to learn to manage. Food choices are a big one. Moderation of any food that triggers it is another. Don't get upset on this condition giving you a flare up if you have had several foods that trigger GERD throughout the week. Another is to let the body heal. If you had a flare up, let the body heal and avoid trigger foods for a few days if not more time. If the flare ups keep coming then it might be time to go back on PPIs. Lastly, change the way you eat during dinner. Have a small portion and eat it several hours before sleep. Use a GERD pillow and sleep on your left side.
Don't lose hope. Talk to us who are dealing with this. Talk with your doctor. Talk to a therapist. Talk with your family.
